Switzerland Insight Guide has great pictures, along with information from many angles, so you get a good feeling as to what as to what it may be like to visit to visit. Information about museums and other landmarks in good.

It has been said many times in reviews of this series----the Insight Guides are more for general background and very good entertainment than seriously planning a trip. If you want a trip planner, look into the Eyewitness Travel series.

Just a brief review of this book's basic purpose: it's really not a travel book in the practical sense, but instead provides a really great concentration of pictures and capsule history/culture. I own it and it's great to look through without any plans for travel - I wouldn't use it to plan a trip directly, but rather to learn about where I'd want to go.
